Important things to know
about telehealth

Telehealth is a convenient way to access therapeutic services without coming into an office to meet with me in person. Because therapy happens online, via a secure, HIPPA compliant platform, I am able to work with individuals all over the state of North Carolina. Telehealth requires access to a smart phone, tablet, computer, or other device with a stable and reliable internet connection. Cellular service is often not reliable and not ideal for telehealth sessions.

Telehealth is not appropriate for everyone. Together we can determine if telehealth would be a good fit for you during our initial consultation.

The cost of telehealth services is the same as the cost of in-person sessions; please refer to the Services & Fees section above for my most up to date fees. If you plan on submitting a superbill to your health insurance provider for reimbursement, please check in directly with your insurer prior to beginning telehealth to determine whether telehealth sessions are reimbursable in part or in full.

While telehealth is convenient, it is important to know that it is not appropriate to participate in a telehealth session while driving, engaging in other activities, or from public locations. Telehealth works best when you have a safe, private space without distractions from which you can connect consistently.

Taking the first step

What should I expect during an initial consultation?

The initial consultation is an opportunity to meet and see if we would be a good match. You will get to know a bit about me, and learn about my approach to therapy. You will also have the opportunity to ask me questions about the way I work, and what you can expect if you choose me as your therapist. This will not be a space to begin deep, therapeutic work, but rather a chance for us to get a feel for each other.
